Small Business Focus Program

Current or potential small business owners will benefit from this four-week seminar series designed to present concepts and best practices of owning, opening and operating a business. Register today for the entire series of seminars or individual classes that fit your needs. These courses are designed to be hands-on and interactive, and are taught by local practitioners who serve as experts in their respective fields. Attendees are encouraged to schedule appointments with SBDC consultants at no cost at the end of each session.

Parking: Available all day at no cost in the Workforce Development Center front lot.

Thursday, October 20 – Starting a Small Business

Discussion Topics: Defining and developing your idea, forms and licenses, business planning, types of small businesses, market research, site location

Thursday, October 27 – Target Marketing

Discussion Topics: What is marketing, identifying your target market, customer research, competitive analysis, finding your niche

Thursday, November 3 – Marketing Technologies

Discussion Topics: Social media, websites and SEO, how to build a website for your business, how to bring customers to your business, e-mail marketing, blogging

Thursday, November 10 – Finance and Accounting

Discussion Topics: Types of financing, SBA loans, lines of credit, alternative sources of capital, QuickBooks, profit and loss statements, cash flow, balance sheets, financial projections
